Egypt deserved to win all the way, from the 1st game they have been dominant, maybe the 1-0 scoreline in the final doesn't show it, but the 4-2 in the opening match and the 4-1 in the semi-final definitely shows it.
Congrats to Egypt and to the wonderful coach "Shehata" who showed all his critics his is by car the best national coach ever.

    JohnPhilip,

No doubt Egypt is a good team, but have been very luck on many occasions this time.

Guess what they were awarded penalty in all first goals for 3 games (i.e first game with Cameroon, against Sudan, and in the quarter final against Manucho's Angola). No other team got that. You know what it is like to score that first goal. the other team tries to come out and they create lots of spaces hence more susceptible to more goals (Cameroon's first game). Thats lucky.

But wait, there is more. There first goal against Drogba's Ivory Coast is a deflection off Salomon Kalou. Very lucky deflection against the run of play. Guess what? More luck comes their way, keeper gets injured midway through first half in the Semi. Thats a big blow, as a new untested shaky keeper comes on (he allowed 3 more goals and 4 from Ghana too). Thats lucky right.

Not done yet. In the final, Song (MTN Player of the semi final) gets injured and is replaced midway thro' first half, with the team also missing the red carded Reading's Bikey. If thats not luck, what is it? Then, a stupid error from poor old Rigbot Song decides the tie. Thats yet another lucky break.

Don't get me wrong, Egypt are a good team, but too lucky as well. However, some of their players got my full respect this time round. I liked Hamburg's Moha Zidan and Al Ahly's Aboutereka, and the second best goalie of the tournament (Al Ahly's Al Hadri) after Espanoyl's Carlos Idris Kameni. Hassan Sheta is superb too.

Its no luck at all my friend ..luck only comes to those who deserve it and if its only luck it will come once or twice, thrice at best but to lead them (Egypt) to winning the whole tournment and retining it back to back whilst everyone wants to beat them (get revenge) starting from Ivory Coast all the way to Cameroon I personally dont call that luck its hard work and god's fortune bieng on ur side against all odds (Hard work and pure utter skill my friend) Galore Egypt and I look forward to seeing them kick some serious but in SA2010

Its no luck at all my friend its god’s fortune my friend and they r two totally different ..God’s fortune only comes to those who deserve it and if its only luck as u assume it will only come once or twice, thrice at best but not lead them (Egypt) all the way to winning the whole tournament and retaining it back to back and beating big names 4-2 and 4-1 whilst everyone wants to beat them up badly (get revenge) starting from Ivory Coast all the way to Cameroon. I personally doubt that this called luck, its hard work and god’s fortune being on your side against all odds (Hard work and pure utter skill my friend). Galore Egypt and I look forward to seeing them kick some serious but in SA2010 ..c u under the table my friend!!

    eyyyy. idrom...
r u saying egypts a lucky team... 2 acn titles in a row... and u cant tell me 2006 was a fluke...we destroyed ivory coast in the first round of that tournament and we destroyed them again at dis tournament...i respect cameroon and all the other teams at the acn but egypt was best by far...its not our fault if we won a lot of penalties...that is not luck...that is player error and also the final goal...that was not luck...that was pure brilliance from zidan to persevere for the ball
