Anybody who doesn't like Clive Tyldesley as an announcer should just not watch football. He is up there with Martin Tyler and Jon Motson (even though his time has passed) as voices of the English game.

wasn't talking about Clive Tyldesley, i watched an ESPN spanish thing first as it was the first one posted. If Tyldesley shouted "GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAL" everytime the ball went in the net i'd definitely have a problem

I agree. Clive and Martin Tyler are arguably two of the best English commentator this date. I really enjoy watching any game commented by either of these two.

A lot of people found this match exciting but I couldn't get over just how terribly both teams defended and a bunch of poor mistakes made throughout the entire match. How can you conceded 7 (Liverpool) and 8 (Chelsea) goals in only three matches?

I'd much rather have Liverpool go through over Chelsea as I despise Chelsea, but it'll be pretty interesting to see them get trampled by Barcelona.

And Hiddink leaves at the end of the season. He said himself he won't be back next season.

Liverpool were awesome..
they are truly the kings of comeback, although this time they were short of 2 goals...but nevertheless...another terrific feat by liverpool...
liverpool had so many chances...but only a few converted into goals...
in this times...one may wonder why the prolific skipper werent available this time...juz to give the extra edge...haiz...
but it has been a wonderful season for liverpool overall...and hopefully they will have the silverware that they deserve...

"Deserve"? Outplayed at Anfield and were never ahead in the tie after Ivanovic's first goal. Delude or what? Second time we have 'come back' in cup competiitions from a 0-2 deficit to you lot at half-time and gone through. If you're so proud of your history at least know it.

i said for their outstanding season so far...they DESERVE to win a silverware i.e the league title....not the CL...
and yes they were outplayed in anfield in the 1st leg...but to score like tat in the 2nd leg...requires a lot of character (btw...it is even now in the CL knockout rounds...liverpool won twice and chelsea won twice)...
and yes i will openly say that liverpool deserves more than any other team to win the league this season..given that they are yet to lose to any of the big fours in the league clashes...and yes liverpool triumphed in stamford bridge and anfield on those games...
"come back"....coming behind from 2-0...and u r already bragging...gosh...
ever tom, dick and hary will say who are the kings of comeback to you...it is liverpool...on many many majpr occasions...

wow i didn't believe i would ve the chance to say this again after last week but, suck on this, liverpool ahahahah lol, we kicked u out of this competition twice in a row!!!! woooooooo even its a breath taking 8 goal thriller, chelsea had it all under control . barcelona wont be a problem though the fact that chelsea had 7 conceded goals in the past 2games was somewhat disturbing anyway hiddink knows what he is doing and hoe pefully chelsea wil achieved at the end of may what they should ve last year!!! chelsea all the way!

you are a dumbass chelsea under control?? if reina hadnt made mistake it would have have been biggest embarassment for chelsea. Liverpool considering the 20th anniversary and the the fact that they play without their skipper gerrard still gave chelsea a very big scare shows how much pride those 11 players can take from this game. yes chelsea are through but now they have the impossible task of beating barca which i dont see any team doing this season.

So Liverpool's first goal wasn't a goalkeeping mistake then? I think you might find we were also minus our skipper after your players hounded the referee into a booking at Anfield. Gerrard was invisible in the first leg and not missed in the game last night. I was there and yes it was an anxious night but you can run as many 'ifs' as you want but the fact is you lost (again) get over it losers.

with guus in charge, anything is possible. i'm sure the first lineup was made to counter liverpool with gerrard. but since he was not playing, the ingredient was somewhat messed up. so after down by two, he brought in anelka. saved by referee for halftime, he spoke a little and there you go. new method and strategy. btw, liverpool gave us hard time with their continuous comeback and finally it came to the boys to stick together and win the tie. congrats to both teams. now.... bring it on barca!

I feel liverpool very unlucky to have missed Mascherano in the Ist leg and Gerrard in the 2nd. Still well played Chelsea, hope we dont meet again next year. I for one am sick of this fixture.

Goodness me. What happened to the days when Liverpool-Chelsea meant an incredibly dull borefest? Shocking defending (and goalkeeping) from both sides but it sure makes the match entertaining.

czech didnt mess up with the free kick...he was easily predicted by tactical superiority..
reina did fumbled....losing the ball like wat reina did was a major mistake by any goalkeeper..
that mistake was the turning point...because it gave chelsea and extra boost and confidence...in addition to the fact that it was their homeground...

Chelsea came back twice in this match and didnt loose a match in 2 games against livpool. i'd say Chelsea were far superior than they are credited for becos Liverpool played at its limits pushing chelsea, but chelsea came back like they just cant stand loosing even if they'd still qualify by goal difference (but lost 4-3 for example).

liverpool to its credit tried to make a comeback but chelsea not only won the first away leg, but came back against a 2-0 and 3-2 scoreline in this match too; so who wos superior? the answer is the victor of the two legs

they only won once in 4 meetings this season...with a 4-4 draw (conceding 4 goals in stamford bridge...is nothing superior)...
