On January 25th 2004, Benfica travelled to Guimarães to play Vitória S.C.. The game was being broadcast live on television and Benfica were leading 1-0. Fehér received a yellow card in injury time and suddenly bent forward seemingly in pain and then fell backwards to the ground. As the club doctors realized that he had suffered a cardiac arrest they performed immediate CPR on him, by which point the audience realized the gravity of the situation. An ambulance entered the field to take Fehér. His condition was covered by the Portuguese media throughout the day, and before midnight Fehér's death was confirmed. The Public Prosecutor (the Portuguese agency responsible for the release of autopsy details) announced that Fehér died from cardiac arrhythmia brought on by hypertrophic cardiomyopathy. He was 24 years old.
In memory of him, Benfica have retired the number 29 shirt which he wore during his time at the club. This shirt number will never be worn again by a Benfica player. He was remembered by many and his death caused a profound shock in Portuguese sport.

Please remove this video.
I would understand if it was an incident from this week, but it is from 2004. It is a sad incident that should not be on the internet as entertainment.
I really appreciate the work you do with foottube, but I feel this is cheap sensationalism.

this has nothing to do with football. it was a pre-existing medical condition. and it was in 2004. take this video off you sad man. have some respect for him and his family, and go back to your national enquirer or whatever sensationalist trashy crap you read.... stick to the football.

Stop saying this isn't football....or has nothing to do with it....This is a football player... it's on the field,,,,this has everything to do with football... so if you're only watching for great goals or else on this site you'd better find another one like it....

to st nase, mac, josh.... i have a question:
where do you draw the line? 96 people were crushed to death at a football match in my home town sheffield, england 1989. would you want to see repeated slow motion footage of that? of people's anguish seeing their loved ones die in front of them? of amulances arriving too late to help? all set to a celine dion soundtrack? if you do, then you really need help, but if you have a shred of decency you'd want those who died to be left with a modicum of respect, not to end up on youtube for some sad rubberneckers' pleasure. there's plenty of reasons why football is the beautiful game, this isn't one of them. this is just very sad sensationalist voyeurism. it's a man dying. he just happens to be playing football. he could've been baking a cake or talking his dog for a walk...

I apreciate this footage is football reality and if you doanything in life there are unfortunate consiquences, How ever i do not feel that this click should have been added to this site becasue it is now 3 yrs old and there is no benifit to anyone to view it. I would like to see this removed if at all possible.
You're to stupid to read I believe,,,,I didn't said I liked it,,,,I said that it's good to post something like that....and it's not because I like to see a man dying and believe me I liked this player....but if you want to see only football and nothing else you should go get a life....because this shows more than just the game it self
