Gerrard's a fabulous player - I'll give you that. Jury out on Ballack's performance in the Prem. Not been there long enough yet. Half a good season says little. Gerrard has passion and commitment, but you mustn't confuse that with innovation and inventiveness. What he does, he does better than anyone in the league at the moment for sure, but I don't recall him doing things you've never seen done anywhwere in the world before; Bergamp did that time and time again. Gerrrard isn't a great header of the ball either (Ballack is!), but no one is saying that a great allrounder has to be brilliant in every skill of the game - just very adaptable and able to perform in every role thrown at them. Bergkamp may not have been the greatest header of the ball, but he could when needed, and he certainly knew how to defend and could be just as tenacious as Gerrard.

Gerrard is a great player. You should maybe put together a five minute montage of his great moments - it would be just as entertaining (some amazing goals and quality passes) and would go along way to prove he is the best we have got in this league on the widest scale of possible boxes to tick right now, but how many bits of it would you see kids trying to work out and copy during training sessions in the weeks after they had seen in on MOTD?

They are different types of player, but they are both great allrounders who have performed at the highest level and proved their credentials over a considerable period of time. Sadly, judging from your comment I suspect you aren't bright enough to realise that...

The problem for Bergkamp is that Arsenal never did too well in Europe during his reign, so he is not as well recognised as he should be. But then the same goes for many players who did well in one league.

Honestly I am Manutd Fan and I believe that Denis was among the best players in the world. I can't say the best Player ever Coz we can't forget what Zizou did too. So I do agree with the performance as best player

the reason i became an arsenal fan is simple... its Dennis Bergkamp! He made me love soccer and a die hard Arsenal fan till today.... Another player who really inspired me was Robert Pires! His performance dropped because of his knee injury. Pity him... Now another promising player for Arsenal is Flamini, if u look at his play carefully, he give his 100% on the pitch.. Glory Arsenal!!!!
