Yep, I agree with the above posts. He is an over rated player -no more, no less.
I am glad that England are back to the old form again! I am itching to see Rooney back with England.. I bet he'll make a good partnership with Owen. They are both great strikers .. Owen the experienced striker and Rooney the youngster.. Mixture of both will make the glory of the team Go England! :d

i never really get to watch or read about england and everything that happens with all its player, but i personally think you keep a.cole, j.cole, gerrard, richards...dump the rest and bring up youngsters and you got yourself a crazy squad..but thats just me

Players are picked on their performances with their club. Not because of their wage demands, relationship with the club owner or any other ******* reason you seem to have written. Heskey, Rooney and Owen are all great strikers, each have different attributes and can influence a game to swing in Englands favor. Lampard over rated? You need to lay off the crack pipe. Lampard is a midfield dynamo, and has scored some fantastic goals for club and country, aside from Gerrard their are not many players who come close to his reputation. Some of you lot don't really have a clue about football.

Huever was dissing wright-phillips is a f******G idiot and i'm a man united fan...He has been England's best player in last 2 qualifiers and given England some much needed width! As for the Lampard/Gerrard arguement Lampards criticism is harsh although I would choose Gerrard any day of the week as he gives it his all every time without fail...Heskey played well and offered some much needed strength up front and created Owen some oppertunities by taking out one of the central defenders...Also, anyone who thinks Owen is back to his best and England's saviour is a complete mentalist and my thoughts go out to Bent, Defoe, Johnson and any other English striker who has played more than 5 games in the last god knows how many years and not even got a mention. Anyway apologies to anyone offended I just needed to get that off my chest!
