My oh my, I never tought it was that simple to beat Arsenal :o
Teamwork, composure, possesion.. We had everything planned and it worked PERFECT. What satisfied me the most is how we handled Arsenal from not scoring. I still can't believe how this side lost against City nd West Ham. Some magical stuff by everyone.
But I have to say that for me Fletcher was the man of the match. How could this man score against such a big side? He could because he is not bad at all, he is only underrated. Not only his commitment to United is superb but today he gave an answer to those who underrate this special man. And he is truly special, and he made me feel proud to support the team, this man's part of :) I know that Rooney may have played slightly a little bit better than Fletcher but we all know what Rooney's capable of.. But only some know what Fletcher is capable of.
Everyone gave his part. Arsenal were like drunk men running on the pitch. And yes, Fabregas tipped one of the best in the world was there. Adebayor also gave his part at the end but no no, against our defence he was invisible. So I'm still waiting to see what your excuses are now :) Oh nd what about Eboue's sent off and Adebayor's dive? nd then you call Ronaldo a diver? You shouldn't have watched this one.
What about Carrick's magical passing? Rooney's chances? Anderson's movement or Nani's tricks?
Carrick and Anderson both should have deserved a goal today because they were awesome.
It was just a fabolous performance. Nd well, we got this score without Ronaldo so you shouldn't dare calling United a one man team one more time because today was the prove of some silly **** you might say: Fletcher IS very underrated & We are NOT a one man team.
So, now Arsenal are out of the FA Cup and so are Liverpool .. You can consolate each other :)

Smart move watering the middle of the field too...taking advantage of Arsenal's second string fullbacks by attacking from the sides. Brilliant use of home field advantage.

very true, eduardo is WAY too casual. bendtner can get up in the air and has somewhat of a shot but has a virtually non-existent left foot. Eboue shows some of the immaturity of the arsenal side. Wenger needs to tell them to clean up their act and stop trying to be so tough.
Arsenal's discipline is abhorent in the big games. The fights last year were shambolic and that tackle by fabregas in the chelsea game show that not much has changed.

Fletcher for MotM. He does it again. he has been involved in 7 our of the 9 games this season where we have scored 4+ goals.
Anderson outclassed Fabregas by miles. Cesc was walking around the pitch like a zombie, and his passing matched that. Anderson was stealing balls, passing well, beating players, holding the ball well, moving, creating, assisting (rooney), and shooting.
eboue, toure, bendtner, and adebayor were acting like children. eboue went cuck norris on evra. toure kicked nani out of frusteration after the play, cause he was angry at being owned so thoroughly. bendtner was diving. Adebayor was diving (dont make excuses), and then he gave vidic a little 'nudge' after vidic had knocked tha ball out.
Arsenal, you may think you do, but you really have no depth. And if anyone actually marks you in the midfield, as opposed to letting fabregas have a few minutes to make a pass, then the whole game falls apart. and dont say lehman had a bad game and that was the reason... if he hadnt had such a good game, it would have been doubled.

Hey, Great game by the lads. Anderson was jsut fantastic today. he completely took fabergas and the out of the game. It was nice to see fletcher get two goals as he is really underrated. rooney was lively as were carrick and nani. i hve to agree that the two or three arsenal fans who posted their comments were true to thier word and not making any excuses.

United dominated the midfield, I think that made the difference. Fergie adroitly resisted the temptation to play Tevez together with Rooney, and instead put Nani in deep (what a game he had). Result: United bossed the Gunners in the middle of field, winning almost every ball and rattling their players. They were fired up too; Ferguson must have given them a right rollicking after the derby loss! =)

What happened with City, ManU?
It's football, things happen(eg: Barnsley defeating the Reds at Anfield). Every club has a bad game from time to time.
Arsenal is still at the top of the Premiership table last time I checked.
Injuries happen, of course. ManU played great and deserved the win, we'll see what happens next time.
Time to focus on AC Milan, maybe some rest helped the injured Gunners. Not diminishing what ManU did today because it was a well played game, but you know how things work and what you would have said if in the same position.

Thats enough showboating...i know arsenal fans were in our faces last week(when we lost to City) but lets not stoop as low as them... Lyon is a great team we should be more concerned about that. I just feel we should field the same team we did today. The team works well defensively and has attacking edge to it well suited for the slower champions league tempo. Personally i think scholes is great but anderson is just a younger, more energetic version of him(im not saying they are the same), same thing goes for giggs vs nani. i hope based on the perfomances of today, sir alex plays the same team. ronaldo needs the break, him tevez and scholes can come off the bench agaisnt lyon...but then again im not manager
I would just offer arsenal a warning against AC. Milan. Milan plays an ugly game, more physical..if arsenal brings that week stuff to the emirates midweek... i hate to imagine what will happen. bad tackles may work against them agaisnt milan, pirlo has some wicked plays on set pieces...i dont have to say a lot about kaka..but the danger lies with seedorff, he plays on the left wing, where most of united attacks were mounted today...arseal should tighten that flank before tuesday. oh yeah, arsenal should win the game in london if they have any hope of reaching the next round...at the san-siro, its not impossible but it will take a stick of dynamite to beat milan there. I hope arsenal do well against milan, us and liverpool couldnt just live up to AC last season, hands down! hi-agreed. This just cements the point that Anderson is going to be better than fabregas, if he isnt already. Hes better in big games. His passing is as good, his vision is as good. His shooting is good, hes just been unlucky. His dribbling is definately better than fabregas. Hes faster than fabregas. hes stronger, imo, but he definately defends better. he holds possession when taking the ball, and when he gets past people. Rarely so you see anderson lose the ball. He doesnt get marked out of games. hes more versatile. In basically all categories hes better.

Some of you are saying that with Ronaldo we could have scored more but I don't think so. Tell me if I'm wrong, but if Ronaldo had played, Fletcher wouldn't. And Fletcher's 2 goals would be nowhere.
And for that Johnny let me tell him that that we are not judging Fletcher on 1 game but on his loyalty throughout the years. But this time he got to his peak and I have no problems saying how good he is.
I'd rather have Fletcher in my team than Van Nistelrooy. VNS may have scored more, may have contributed more but when he needed to prove that he is better than Saha he left us. Fletcher always works harder and harder, he loves Utd and we love him too, as much as we love Roo and Ron.

What a magnificent game that was. My landlord gave me a final warning ... she is pretty much tired of hearing me scream. Men I was so happy, I just had to scream so loud that people thought I went mad.
What a game... what a performance that was...we needed to win this game to boost our confidence and we did it in an excellent fashion.
Few things to point out...
First, Respect to Arsenal fans who admitted the defeat and congratulated us. I have watched every Manchester united home games so far and I don't remember a single team that didn't have a goal attempt on us. I mean we are talking about Arsenal here which is supposedly regarded as one of the best attacking team in the premier league. I just hoped that Arsenal would make a single goal attempt at least but that didn't happen. If there are any arsenal fans who try to come up with some excuses for that, I don't think we can have any sort of discussion cuz you were simply too good for you and you were out played like you were a team from 2nd division.
Anyway, Congra all united fans and let us focus on the Champions league now. Lyon is a tough team to beat but I have a feeling, with the squad that we currently have, we have a very good chance of beating them away. I don't doubt for a min that we will kick their *** when they come to Old Trafford.

On Saturday evening man utd showed arsenal how to play the beautiful game. From the defence to attack and all in between arsenal were just second best. I dont think that man utd would have played better if giggs, hargreaves or especially neville were playing. Arsenal's best performers weren't playing, their 2 full backs (clichy & sagna), the engine (flamini) and the on form striker (Ade). But this is football, come April some players will be fit, others will be missing. To win the FAcup it depends on a handful of performances (as other cups) but the best team is decideed by the league.

A good match for Man U, nothing better than a win over a great rival like arsenal before the champions league game.
I don't think Eboue did it on purpose but it was a very clumsy challenge.. he flew in with studs up, and at that height he could just give some1 a good flying kick in the face.
Nani's showboating was good when you first see it, but maybe it was not necessary I think, considering the nasty tackles and challenges he got after that.
Rooney was good..nice positioning, running in between defenders as a lone striker..just needs to work on his finishing.
Good work in locking down the Arsenal midfielders, which I think was the main reason we control the flow of the game.
This just shows how good Man U can be if players like Carrick, Fletcher and Nani, who tend to underperform, are at the top of their game. :d

There are no excuses for us. It was Wenger's stupid decision not to wield his best XI from the start, and who else is there to blame for our reserve fullbacks being rubbish? And *** happened to Gallas? he's been a wall all season, useless that day. As much as it hurts to admit it, we were completely outplayed by Man Ure, period. Anyone saying that Arsenal aren't interested in the FA Cup would be nonsense and should honestly go and get a life. Every competition is there to be won, no matter if it is only a Carling Cup or such a big cup such as the Champions League.
Even United wanted the Carling Cup this year and last year but it wasn't meant to be. And FA Cup wasn't meant to be for Arsenal this year.

1. If you are being gracious in defeat, cheers to ya. Stop reading now, thats all i have to say to you.
2. If you say you don't care about the FA Cup, that BS. You do. And dont say it gives you more time to rest. Its only 2 more games till the end of the EPL, and then a final after the season has ended.
3. Don't say it was cause your squad was injured. Your lineup was mostly normal starters. To say that you were forced to play bad wingbacks only emphasizes the point that you have no depth. Obviously your academy isn't as good as you say cause the backups they produced were not good enough, not nearly good enough.
4. We played a weakened squad too if you didn't notice. No Ronaldo, who we supposedly can't play without. No Tevez, no Hargreaves, no Giggs. Park is a fringe player, Fletcher is 5th choice CM, Nani is still 2nd to Giggs. We didn't bring on Scholes till the second half.
5. Dinho- you want to talk about infighting? The beckham boot thing was an accident, for one. But how about headbutting your own teammate on the field cause you are losing. yes, and then diving like a swim team and shin kicking like a 10 year only panzy cause you are getting owned

Fletcher for MotM. He does it again. he has been involved in 7 our of the 9 games this season where we have scored 4+ goals.
Anderson outclassed Fabregas by miles. Cesc was walking around the pitch like a zombie, and his passing matched that. Anderson was stealing balls, passing well, beating players, holding the ball well, moving, creating, assisting (rooney), and shooting.
eboue, toure, bendtner, and adebayor were acting like children. eboue went cuck norris on evra. toure kicked nani out of frusteration after the play, cause he was angry at being owned so thoroughly. bendtner was diving. Adebayor was diving (dont make excuses), and then he gave vidic a little 'nudge' after vidic had knocked tha ball out.
Arsenal, you may think you do, but you really have no depth. And if anyone actually marks you in the midfield, as opposed to letting fabregas have a few minutes to make a pass, then the whole game falls apart. and dont say lehman had a bad game and that was the reason... if he hadnt had such a good game, it would have been doubled.

This match was so embarrassing. All credit to Man Utd for the win. They played really well. But most of you don't realise that Arsenal DO have a lot of injuries and that just because Fletcher had one fantastic game doesn't mean he's a superstar. I think he's actually proven he's an inconsistent performer.
And another thing, you Man United fans don't realise how much Man Utd get their **** kissed by the media. The game was one example. When Rooney handballs and it leads up to the 2nd goal, no comments from anyone. When Arsenal are deemed offside by the linesman/ref, no replay of the incident. When an Arsenal player went in hard for a tackle, a hundred replays come up and the commentators go on about how dangerous it was but when a Man Utd player goes in hard like no replays are shown and there aren't any comments. When the ball hits Toure on the chest, the commentators go on about it hitting his hand and again about a hundred replays of the incident are shown.
And for those of you who criticise Adebayor for diving, I think there was contact by the defender but he definetely made a meal of it. But one of your own players (Ronaldo) has gone down in the past for less or no contact at all. So don't point the finger at others when your own act the same way.
And I also think Eboue needs some sense to be talked into him, That ******* is crazy

You are right on all accounts, but that applies to everyone. Do you think that this situation would be any different except with reversed roles had the scoreline read United 0-4 Arsenal? No. It would be the exact same.
Especially between these 2 sides. Both have a massive following locally and internationally. A lot of that international following are totallly clueless about football, and half won't watch the game. As more and more of these people get on and post, many without probably even watching the highlights... the debate turns into a insult contest, and the whole point of the thread is lost under a stream of *s, capital letters, and biased, misinformed, idioticy.
Im not trying to say all international fans are clueless, I'm American, but many are very misinformed. We aren't being so gracious in victory, but if you go read this, most Arsenal fans aren't being so gracious in defeat. Well we indeed know that Arsenal is no match for ManUtd, past present and future as we will have the lights of young and skillful Anderson, Quick and pacy Nani, Lethal Rooney and Unstoppable ronaldo.:d. I think I am pretty neutral in this match, although that's probably not true because i've really enjoyed watching Arsenal play this season, and I will always hate Manchester United. However, one cannot say that they didn't completely dominate in every way.
I think Arsenal fans who say Lehmann had a **** game have got it completely mixed up. Everyone was flat except for Lehmann. He made some excellent saves, and stopped the score from being much more lopsided than it was.
For me, hands down the man of the match was Anderson. He basically played Cesc's role and outshined him in every aspect.
You cannot say the injuries were not a factor for Arsenal. However, they were flat and it was their day. I think that mixed with Man U coming off a loss last week at City and taking the time to handle the emotion of the 50th anniversary of the Busby babes and channel it in a positive way.
I still think Arsenal wins the league especially if they can get some players back. Also, look for this loss to give them some extra kick against Milan Wednesday. Man U's got to be considered favorites for the Cup after the win.

Zinadine- agreed, arsenals motm was lehman by miles.
the united motm would be hard to pick. nani had the defense whipped, and thats being modest. he really dominted. fletcher was just about perfect, scoring 2 and providing so many opportunites. as well, great crosses etc... Rooney was everyone, and owning pretty much the whole world, except the back of the net. He did great, but shouldve had like 5 goals instead of 1. Anderson was everywhere. He provided assist to Rooney, and should have had like 3 more assists to rooney but someone still doesnt have his shooting boots on. He won the ball back a lot and shut down arsenal's midfield.
So nani, fletcher, rooney, and anderson all have a say for motm. The official united poll was rooney, the poll on my forum says fletcher, my gut reaction was anderson, but then again nani was a beast...

Is the arguement related to whether Christiano Ronaldo was sidelined or whether he was being saved for the bigger stage. As for this form in the season - it has been ominous throughout and in all competitions, the few negatives abt his game he is a bit more selfish and tries to overdo which he may avoid. As for not ppl cribbing he does not perform in the bigger games - i think the defenders man mark him and so he is unable to play his natural game. But then he can work on his game and improve his passing abilities a bit that shd fix things for him. But i for one can never doubt in the talent and potential he has

Americandesi i could not agree with you more however I cannot stand seing poeple write comments based on pure lack of know how, Cristiano Ronaldo does not perform as well outside Man U, portugal just lost 3 to 1 against Italy last week in a friendly and CR7 did nothing to stop it, they marked him and did a incredible job at it. The argument arose by different sources of information. I stated mine through my link while many say otherwise. But I do agree in the reasoning of your analysis regarding why CR7 doesn't perform well in the supposed big games. Good teams would be nothing without their solid defences, and therefore they mark C. Ronaldo with the highest regards and shut him out.

Ronaldo doesnt play well in big games cause he gets man marked by really good defenders. How do you dribble under manmarking? its not easy. Vs Italy, he played really well though actually. Esp in the first half, he played smart. he juts passed around. he didnt lose the ball, he was a perfect team player.

A real competitor would want to play his opponent at full strength to show how strong he is. We didnt play Ronaldo, Tevez, Scholes, Giggs... Thats weakened to me. It would be really embarrassing if the self proclaimed best academy in england produced trash wingbacks who got owned by United's players. It would also be funny if those players really weren't any younger than the youngster he got owned by. So much for a great academy. It would also be rally embarassing if a big 4 club was so weak in depth that they couldnt replace the outside wingbacks except with youth players who were totaly trash. You said that he was being punished for cell phone use, and that's why he sat out. That's not what SAF said and it's posted on both the link I posted and on manutd.com (him sitting out because of stomach problems).
But you're a racist and don't even know what the argument is about. You jumped from accusing him of using a cell phone midweek; THEN on post 211, all five links posted had nothing to do with cell phone use and punishment for such. You changed the argument to suit your own needs.

Teamwork, composure, possesion.. We had everything planned and it worked PERFECT.
What satisfied me the most is how we handled Arsenal from not scoring. I still can't believe how this side lost against City nd West Ham.

Fletcher for MotM. He does it again. he has been involved in 7 our of the 9 games this season where we have scored 4+ goals.
Anderson outclassed Fabregas by miles. Cesc was walking around the pitch like a zombie, and his passing matched that. Anderson was stealing balls, passing well, beating players, holding the ball well, moving, creating, assisting (rooney), and shooting.
eboue, toure, bendtner, and adebayor were acting like children. eboue went cuck norris on evra. toure kicked nani out of frusteration after the play, cause he was angry at being owned so thoroughly. bendtner was diving. Adebayor was diving (dont make excuses), and then he gave vidic a little 'nudge' after vidic had knocked tha ball out.
Arsenal, you may think you do, but you really have no depth. And if anyone actually marks you in the midfield, as opposed to letting fabregas have a few minutes to make a pass, then the whole game falls apart. and dont say lehman had a bad game and that was the reason... if he hadnt had such a good game, it would have been doubled.

Lyon is a great team we should be more concerned about that. I just feel we should field the same team we did today. The team works well defensively and has attacking edge to it well suited for the slower champions league tempo. I don't think Eboue did it on purpose but it was a very clumsy challenge.. he flew in with studs up, and at that height he could just give some1 a good flying kick in the face.
Nani's showboating was good when you first see it, but maybe it was not necessary I think, considering the nasty tackles and challenges he got after that.
Rooney was good..nice positioning, running in between defenders as a lone striker..just needs to work on his finishing.
Good work in locking down the Arsenal midfielders, which I think was the main reason we control the flow of the game.

Fletcher for MotM. He does it again. he has been involved in 7 our of the 9 games this season where we have scored 4+ goals.
Anderson outclassed Fabregas by miles. Cesc was walking around the pitch like a zombie, and his passing matched that. Anderson was stealing balls, passing well, beating players, holding the ball well, moving, creating, assisting (rooney), and shooting.
eboue, toure, bendtner, and adebayor were acting like children. eboue went cuck norris on evra. toure kicked nani out of frusteration after the play, cause he was angry at being owned so thoroughly. bendtner was diving. I try to do the same thing, but usually as unbiased as I try to be, someone disagrees with my appraisel, and then they get personal about it... and then things escalate.
I think Arsenal fans who say Lehmann had a **** game have got it completely mixed up. Everyone was flat except for Lehmann. He made some excellent saves, and stopped the score from being much more lopsided than it was.
For me, hands down the man of the match was Anderson. He basically played Cesc's role and outshined him in every aspect.
You cannot say the injuries were not a factor for Arsenal. However, they were flat and it was their day. I think that mixed with Man U coming off a loss last week at City and taking the time to handle the emotion of the 50th anniversary of the Busby babes and channel it in a positive way.
I still think Arsenal wins the league especially if they can get some players back. Also, look for this loss to give them some extra kick against Milan Wednesday. Man U's got to be considered favorites for the Cup after the win.

the united motm would be hard to pick. nani had the defense whipped, and thats being modest. he really dominted. fletcher was just about perfect, scoring 2 and providing so many opportunites. as well, great crosses etc... Rooney was everyone, and owning pretty much the whole world, except the back of the net. He did great, but shouldve had like 5 goals instead of 1. Anderson was everywhere. He provided assist to Rooney, and should have had like 3 more assists to rooney but someone still doesnt have his shooting boots on. He won the ball back a lot and shut down arsenal's midfield.
So nani, fletcher, rooney, and anderson all have a say for motm. The official united poll was rooney, the poll on my forum says fletcher, my gut reaction was anderson, but then again nani was a beast...

Is the arguement related to whether Christiano Ronaldo was sidelined or whether he was being saved for the bigger stage. The argument arose by different sources of information. I stated mine through my link while many say otherwise. But I do agree in the reasoning of your analysis regarding why CR7 doesn't perform well in the supposed big games. Good teams would be nothing without their solid defences, and therefore they mark C.
