If your head were not so far up your **** you'd know by now that It was nowhere NEAR United's first team. Giggs and Ronaldo's first starts of the campaign and they were matched by a host of youngsters.
    As far as the comparison to the ****nal scoreline goes you are equally ignorant. The gooners managed to defeat a CHAMPIONSHIP side whilst United successfully ousted a perennial premiership squad. UNITED!

    seriously? man uniteds second team handled things quite well against a mediocre boro team. i think things would have been different if it wasn't for the red card but hey, what matters is what happened. 3-1 is a pretty convincing scoreline no matter who they would have played, given that it was a premiership team.

    can I just say to all the muppets making anti united comments I watched the game and middlesburough played their strongest possible team on the night and united had half first team and half youngsters and united hammered them pretty much all night, middlesburough were lucky they didn't concede alot more

    United should b glad to beat Middlesborough with a half 1st half reserve team. I mean they only drew with newcastle at home 1-1, just beat portsmouth 1-0 ( a team man city put 6 past) and just drew with chelsea. So u guess scoring more than one goal in a game is a huge victory.

    it is just me who doesn't think the tackle looked all that bad? His trailing leg lifts up a bit much but the leading leg tackles along the ground in a 50-50. A red card & 3 match ban is sufficient punishment.
    Oh, & to those who think this was Manure's 'b' team - I wish it was. Then Ronaldo, Giggs, Nani, Vidic, Brown, Anderson & Tevez wouldn't be playing in the first team. I think Liverpool, Chelsea & Arsenal would be happy if that lot only played in the Carling Cup this season!

    i must say i was pretty impressed by the second string and players who needed games yesterday...must especially possebon and wellbeck...

    was it just me or did it seem like possebon was a mutated version of carrick and pirlo in one =:)(i mean he is obviously not as good) but he did smack the ball around the park effortlessly. and wellbeck's unselfish play was class he just needs a bit of fine tuning finishing wise but still overall an impressive display against one of the bash emm up teams (u know what i mean bolton, blackburn and co) oh well hope we can take this form into the league and champions league:d

    it would be good to note that:
    the majority of United's 1st teamers that played were returning from injury (ronaldo) or suspension (vida)

    it is also a credit to saf that we could leave out so many players, and uninformed poeple can still think we are playing an A team. he does a great job building a strong squad and also rotating to keep everyone satisfied.

    still, it cannot be ignored that
    1. welbeck debut
    2. possebon debut
    3. rafael debut (i dont think he was involved in any comp matches yet)
    4. ben amos debut
    5. manucho debut and 1st game after injury

    Yea the champs league trophy we won last year is a joke, but yet its still sitting proudly in our trophy cabinet along wid the BPL trophy we won last season, n wad u Ass**** Gonners gotta show for dat? I dun believe i need to say it but every1 knows it

    U claim u play the best free flowing football n yet when the big games matter Wengers youngsters will all pee in their pants n **** themselves up. Manu plays free flowing attacking football but the only diff is we hav the nerves to actually win games.

    my point exactly is that this year is different. and that is why i can't wait. sure the first year henry is gone you're probably going to beat us, but i would think that we've got you boys in the bag this year.

    and i have not criticized manu at all. i have just made some statements about their lineup...and statements about how they'll lose to arsenal.

    So youre picking out one result and comparing it to another, and making conclusions based on just that? The ignorance of some of these anti-United fans is mind boggling. So how about Arsenal losing to Fulham, while Hull beat them 2-1, does that mean Arsenal sucks? Of course not, idiot. Its no secret that United is having a slow start to the season, but we've also had the hardest fixtures. But last season springs to mind doesnt it? Double champions, how about you Gooners? We were actually in a better position at this time last year, so i figure this year we'll be triple champions at least! We weren't exactly fielding our B-team, but it wasnt our A-team either by a long shot, and playing against about the strongest side Boro can field I'm pretty happy with the scoreline. And Daniel, thats cute comparing your 6-0 win against a team 15th in the championship, while we beat Boro 3-1 with "fluke" goals. I suggest you go watch some of your goals in that game, seemed like the Blades goalie had a wager put in for a 6-0 scoreline, Velas last goal springs to mind for example. But credit where credit is due, Arsenal is looking good, but theres no doubt well be back up there in no time. United.

    was at old trafford last night, uniteds kids were playing some really good football, wellbeck, da silva and possebon were all very assured on the ball and willing to play good football, it was also good to see ronaldo and anderson talking to the youngsters and encouraging them alot. giggs was very wasteful in the second half and I was suprised he wasnt taken off erlier in the game.United as they often are were wasteful, especially in the first half and boro certainly rode their luck. I wasnt suprised when pogo got sent off as he had been having a go at Nani and Wellbeck throughout the first half on and off the ball- you dnt tend to see these things in a short highlights clip. Manucho looks like he could be uniteds version of drogba-he is big and strong but seems to be very springy like saha was (when he was fit) good game, went out in manc afterwards for freshers week, laughed at the labour party and that was it. safe.
    I think this season isnt going to be a race between united arsenal and chelsea i think were going to see these three lose alot more points and a more exciting end to the season.
    just hope to see the reds in Rome in May.

    CR has a very long way to go to reach the heights of Giggs, Scholes, Neville. These are legends and only time will tell.

    I agree you either love him or hate him and I can see why so many people hate him. There's no denying his talent and his value to any team.

    I'm glad Utd didn't sell him not just for our sake but for the sake of football.

    Man U have been sucsessful and fergie because he intimitades refs, cheats and shouts at everyone. It seems there is rules for everyone else, and separate rules for Man U. Thats why i hate them, Rio and rooney get away with murder and scholes too.

    If you look at the Barca V man u games. Barca dominated, you only had a few shots. Lucky scholes goal, and then John terry missed the pen. and i think also chelski hit the woodwork a few times in moscow. I believe thats the defn of luck. dont even get me started on the CL final vs munich....
