  Absolutely Fantastic, Magnificent, Quality, Class .. they have had everything. Gerrard's controls and Torres's tricks made Marseille under-pressured since the first shaking of Marseille's net. The rests controlled well all the time. For the first half, I thought Reina's goalkeeping shirt wouldn't get wet of sweat. A little efforts of Marseille's attacks in second half couldn't crack their egg-shaped digit "zero". Cheers!!! Liverpool

  Beautiful dive gerrard, whatever it takes to catch up to cristiano ronaldo's bullsh*t. you british fans are simply pathetic to accuse any other countries of diving. gerrard is #2 in the world right now in diving, the only reason they came back against milan 3 years ago was because of his diving ****. ko toe, yes they did have everything, including being the thieving little serpents they've always been known for. cheer for a better team that isn't led by such a pu**y.

  just cause stevie g is a great player and you cant have him on your team is not a good reason to b*%^ and moan about him. he is a class act and no other midfielder comes close to the impact he can have... there are fantastic players out there like kaka... but no one can do wat stevie can...

  I'm a Liverpool fan but how can you say Gerrard dived then? Yeah, he was prepared to go down but it was a foul, Gerrard knew what he was doing and he made the defender come across and tackle him, if he fouls him, he gets a pen, if he doesn't he slots it in the bottom corner, eitherway Gerrard is one of the top 5 Midfielders in the world right now and you're just jelous your team doesn't have someone as good as him (or C. Ronaldo).

  hey yaya and tamiltiger, no one is knocking gerrard or ronaldo's skills. they are both incredible midfielders. they also disgrace the game with their diving. i have NO respect for anyone that goes down when they could have kept their feet. its shameful and a blight on the beautiful game. gerrardpunk speaks the truth - gerrard dove against milan to get that third goal. see ronaldo's dive this past week for a reference to what im talking about.

  Waste of time!! It was a dive.. Mr. Gerrard went to ground a little too easily. I don't care about his class, but a diver is a diver even if he's a brit and a media darling.
  Well, no point arguing CR and Joe Cole would've done the same. But Liverpool fans need not gimme that 'Holier than thou' ****.

  lets just put it this way, as a marseille fan living in nice atm, we were terribly outclassed last night and deserved to lose, the players did not put in 100% and this is the result we deserve,
  
  gerrard is brilliant, not a dive but a shocking tackle, should have been red carded as the last man, so i count myself lucky its not 8-0 like besiktas.

  you poeple who think gerrard dived must not play football yourself or only watch it in slow mo? when you are SPRINTING in real time any contact will bring you down, and there was clearly contact, so get a life get a ball and try running yourselfs

  yeaaa.. shuld hav been gotten at least a yellow if not being given a red.. he's the last man defending yet he made a tackle.. CLEARLY there was contact with the red capt which brought him dwn..
  
  whoever plays soccer in ur life once will know that when it's ur ball passed up front.. u will definitely chase for the ball upfront and bring the ball forward.. who would like to trip themselves.. at such fast pace. u'll definitely fall even from a single slight minor contact from the opponent.. get a life dude.. and nv compare gerrard to c.ronaldo.. becuz c.ronaldo's dives are completely utmost "awesome" (no contact can still jump and fall)..

  I am a Marsielle supporter... sad to see my team outclassed completely... Liverpool were definitely the better team of the night.. every time they attacked i was nervous... our midfielders struggled to penetrate their defence... and our strikers... well i think they had a couple of half chances... but it was not to be our night.. Well.. I guess we need to focus on UEFA cup from hereforth...

  From the side, it does look like Gerrard dived. However, none of these highlights show the foul from the front. If you watched the game and saw the replay from the front, you will KNOW HE DIDN't DIVE. Even Tommy Smith and company agreed he didn't.
  
  Trust me, find a highlight showing it from the front and you will see he was brought down.

  ok people, pittsy12 and allezlom are right. for the record i am a red, but looking at that foul from an objective view i say its not a foul. Gerra may have invited the foul, but the player fouled him. should have been off (last man and all). from there if he gets a chance Stevie is gonna make the keeper pull of a save at worst (or best if your a marsaille fan). good performance as usual from the reds, good to be in europe after xmas as normal. better luck next time marsaille (unless your playing us of course)

  Foul is a foul. When you foul any player in penalty box, it's a penalty. As simple as that. Whether he dived or not, it's a foul. The defender mistime his tackle and caught his leg.
  
  Watch closely, the defender tried to tackle the ball, but gerrard somehow manage to knock it thru..
  
  Come on why judge players especially on the pitch? You want us to start about Mr. Monkey Henry? or maybe Malouda who dived when Chelsea play Liverpool in the beg. of EPL season? Come on it doesn't matter if he's a brit, french or whatever.

  Liverpool is a force in both the Premiership and Champions League...
  
  Everybody dives, some more than others, and nobody likes it when its the opposing team's player doing it, but will defend it to the death when its their team's player going down, so i guess that makes everybody a hypocrite...
  
  Gerrard is a tough, solid, talented all around player, and a good captain...
  
  I dont think that was a dive on that penalty, there was contact on Gerrard's legs and more importantly, no contact whatsoever with the ball, it was a late tackle and the defender was actually fortunate not to get booked...
  
  Probably wouldnt have changed the outcome anyway, Liverpool dominated overall, Kewel looked great, the defense was solid, and there was constantly holes in the Marseille defense which looked pretty jittery all game...

  Can we please stop arguing about dives? Pool won it 4-0 and marseille never threatened to make it a game. Even if the ref had let foul go, Torres class and Kuyt's work ethic would have had us up 2-0 at the break and in the driver's seat. The french laid down when it mattered, like they do best.

  tamer... of course no one can understand your statement... knockout stages are only for the next 16 teams, then its quater finals, semi finals and finals... and the same club from the same country cant meet in the knockout stages... a lesson to learn dude... livkid... forget bout him... his head to is to big for him... they are just worried that all... like RAFA says one game at a time... wen Arsenal come will deal with them... no point teaching poeple who think that they are better than anyone...
