Wtf was the ref thinking? Offside goal, 2 hand balls, and some nice diving by the CZE Team. The ref shoudve given ufjaulsi a card for the foul vs frei.

to SUI-beta-than-CZE: You musta seen a different match! Sverkos was not in offside, if you have a closer look, you find out that he was in front of the SUI defenders. That was perhaps Sionko, who was offside but he didnt play the ball.
Well and one of the handballs coulda been given, but the hand was no intention. Try to jump up and what what your hands do. Well the Swiss got into their greatest chance thanks to this "handball", didnt they? The second "handball" is not worth commenting.
The last thing: it wasnt Ujfalusi who tackled Frei but Grygera and it was a clean tackle. Magnin performed much worse on Sionko and was righteously "awarded".
I got this feeling you must be Swiss or highly unobjective.

the first handball is clear, the second did hit his arm but he can be justified I think since he kept it with his chest, the goal was definitely onside but switzerland did enough to at least deserve a draw xD

cazEMoKid: the first was certainly a handball, however, I believe that the ref had a choice: it could have been given and the Czechs would have been able to do nawthin about it. If you have a closer look, you find out that Ujfalusi was jumping up 4 which you need to move up yer hands. The swiss player slightly pushed him dwn by his elbow (you see it in unnatural movement in ujfalusis body at the moment of the jump and movement of head to the right). if you push dwn on body, hands carry on in movement upwards though. I believe this is how the handball occurred. And as it was a handball that was - as I believe - unitentional, I am certain the ref decided correctly.

I like the czech's, but they didn't play well and switzerland deserved it not because of the ref, but because they were the best team on the pitch. If Switzerland wants to pass to the next stage, they'll have to improve their offense and learn how to play without Frei.

I believe that the match was evenly played, and I really have only one complaint - the first handball. The second handball may or may not have been called. I can understand why it wasn't called, because the arm was basically attached to his chest. The first handball, however, was blatant and the Swiss should have gotten a pk from it. Vondosmanoff, with all due respect, intention has no place in a ref's decision making process. I'm sure no player "intends" to committ a foul in the penalty area, but it happens. The handball was one of the most obvious I have ever seen, and regardless of whether or not it was "intentional," it happened and should have resulted in a pk for the Swiss.

The Czech goal was onside, and so they deserved that goal. Switzerland got lots of chances, but just dominating possession and getting lots of chances doesn't mean you deserve anything. You have to score, and that is the ONLY statistic that matters at the end of the game.

Again, the Swiss deserved a pk, and so my belief is that the match should have ended 1-1.

rvg: I very much agree with you! As I have said: the pk could have been given and noone could complain. Well, it wasnt. I also explained why I believe the decision of the ref was correct. If I am not mistaken, the rules say something about intentional movement of hand towards the ball, resulting in it changing direction. No matter how controversial it might have seemed, I believe that Ujfalusis handball cannot be considered to be an intentional movement that he made in order to deflect the ball.
I watched the replay about 30 times and the more I look at it, the more I am certain that Ujfalusi cant have done nothing about his hand touching the ball. And this is why I think the ref did right.
You are also right that our team did not deserve to win - playing like ole morons, we cannot even hope for a draw with the Portuguese.
