It doesn't make sense. first i never said i liked italians players who dived but like some italian players. they are not all divers. and what is your point with christiao ronaldo, i never said i liked christiano ronaldo's divings but you have to say that he is a good player. and next time think before writing.

Français, what u say dosen't make sense. U like Italian players who dive and crie every ten secondes because sombody touches him. BUt u hate cristiano ronaldo, the player who gets taclkeld 24/7 and then obviosly complains.

thanks v-spot. I agree with you can't compare the 06 italian side and the french side of 1998. Italy would get crushed. I think i am fighhting for a lost cause by saying that diving is a disgrace in football. By the way, st-nase i don't think that France got any help from the referee against spain. we were loosing 1-0 because of a penalty given to spain. I think that's the point where the french side started to show their real potential. after the goal of ribery the game was clearly one sided with Zidane commanding the play and scoring a magnificant goal. I am happy to discuss about any subject but for the love of footbal don't say that dives are smart.

Wow. I just skimmed through this entire thread and lost 5 minutes of my life that I will never get back. The average age of those commenting on this thread has to be 10 years old max otherwise I can't understand how someone could actually say the things you guys have said and be serious. I'm on francais's side of the argument and whoever said that Grosso was "smart" in diving the way he did is not a real football fan. period.

Still, francais, st-nase, c.ronaldo, and fooley you all desperately need to get a life. Good lord you lot are arguing about something that happened a year ago. I'm not gonna bother putting my two cents in because it's clear that none of you will ever be swayed from what you think. All I'll say is, in my humble opinion, the French side of 98' would wipe the floor with the Italian side of 06' (couldn't help myself). Cheers.

what is wrong with you guys, Korea never got the help of the referee. they were simply better than the italians, period. And st-nase, i don't hate Italy. On the contrary i am a fan of many Italian players like Maldini, Nesta, Cannavaro,and buffon. I put them among the best players in the world.So you can't say I hate Italy for no reason. I just don't like to see a team winning because of a dive.And the reason I mentioned those Italian players is that I have never seen them dive or very rarely. I am against any type of dive, especially those dives that c.ronaldo likes so much. No wonder why someone who support dives took this pseudonym.
And by the way I agree with st-naze, Hiddink is one of the best coach in football (if not the best) because he can do so well with a team composed of unknown players. That's what I call a great coach or manager, someone who can do great things with very little.

can you remind me of what you talking about Fooley? if you think that i am against dives when it is about other team, you are wrong. if henry dived ( and he did against spain) on the thing you are talking about then he should be ashamed of himself. dives are a disgrace and I am sorry Italy is renowned for that. I don't care if italy won extra-time or not, the point is that at that time it was a lot easier for Mussolini to pay or threaten the referees. Germany had 57% possesion and brazil had 43%, and they won. france sucks at the world cup, they dont bring there A game when it matters most, and they can only win on home soil. zidane knew it was his last game ever, and for such a great player he couldve been a tad bit more smarter then to exit out on a headbutt. bottom line france sucks, suck it up and shut your mouth, if not, then i can argue with you all day tough guy.

I am sorry Italy didn't win the world cup fairly or no one would have talked about their dives. And did you see the final or you are just blind? Italy only made few header during the end of the first half which gave them the equaliser. Apart from that France had control of the game and the middfield. And by the way loosing a final isn't the end of everything so i don't see why i should cry. winning is always better but not at all cost if you know what I mean.
